National Geographic has taken a house, yes, I repeat a house and made it fly "Up" style with the help of 300 weather balloons filled with helium. The house is a 16X16 house built for the National Geographic show "How Hard Can It Be?" ... And apparently it wasn't that hard because it was DONE. And it was amazing!
OK, so actually according to the host of the show it was kind of hard. It took two weeks from the initial assignment until the day of the launch to figure out how the experiment would be done. They met with experts in order to figure out the logistics and build the house. It was 6000 pounds, a little less once they flew it ... and in the end, it reached about 10,000 feet and flew for about an hour. Crazy, right?
