Can I Find You On Facebook?

A couple in Israel recently named their newborn baby "Like" after the Facebook feature.

The couple, Lior Alder and his wife Vardit, live just outside of Tel Aviv and wanted a name that was innovative. Clearly they succeeded, as it is the only reported use of the name in the whole country (in my opinion, I would hope the whole world).

The Alders along with Like

The couple have two other daughters named Pie (after the food) and Dvash (for honey in Hebrew).

This comes after an Egyptian man named his newborn daughter "Facebook" after the social networking site, because of the its role in the recent revolution.

This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill, fifteen percent concentrated power of will, five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain, and a hundred percent reason to remember the name ... (Remember The Name, Fort Minor)

Hate on me, hater. Now or later, 'cuz I'm gonna do me. You'll be made, baby. Go ahead and hate on me, hater. I'm not afraid of. What I got paid for, you can hate on me. (Hate On Me - Jill Scott)

Parenting Class: C- ... Entertainment Class: A

... And you thought your parents were strange for taking naked pics of you in the bathtub? ... I beg to differ because this one totally takes the cake ...

But who cares ... Because it's just so darn cute!

One day I won't take this anymore. One day I'll be old enough to do, to do, to do what I want to.  I won't have to run away. And you won't be around to say I'm not allowed to. One day ... (One Day - Simple Plan)

Sorority Life

For all the Greeks out there who lived the Greek life or who are living it now or for those who continue to live it as an alumni ... You know truly lived all the tenets of Greek life ... For those who were (or are) leaders on campus, for those who excelled in academics, for those who woke up at 6 am on a Saturday  morning to do a walk or a run or a river clean-up or any other of the hundreds of community service events that just happened to be at 6 am on a Saturday morning (or conveniently on a Thursday night), and for those of you who still truly believe that Greek life gave you some of those friends you can't live without ... Here's a fun little song for you (especially for you ladies) to sing along with and remember the glory days!

Shout Out To A CHI O!

My my my little ADPi, Kappa Delta, Tri Delts - you look so fine. Oooo, don't know what I'm gonna do around those Zeta's, Theta's, Chi O's and little Phi Mu's. Hey yeah,  hey yeah. My my sorority girl. My my sorority girl. (My Sorority Girl - Luke Bryan)

So Now What: The Real Osama Story

If you keep up with the news (and I hope you do), then I'm sure at this point, you have heard the story of where and how Osama bin Laden was killed.
If you know anything about the news media, then you know that you need to take some of the the things you hear with a grain of salt ... especially considering the nature of the story and the covert nature of operation, in general. Who's to believe everything being said about the attack and killing of Osama, anyway?
For all I know, it could have gone down like this ...

     But seriously ...
Maybe I'm a little skeptical but some things just don't seem to add up ... For example, Pakistan wasn't involved in the operation? Ummmm ... Does anyone else find it a little funny that two helicopters made it into Pakistani airspace over a highly militarized area of the country without them being intercepted before an attack on the compound could take place? ... His body was buried at sea within 24 hours to be in accordance with Islamic practice? Ummmm ... In my opinion, Osama bin Laden didn't follow the tenets of Islam and that did not make him a Muslim so whether he was buried within 24 hours or next month, it wouldn't have made a difference to me. Also, Muslims are buried in the ground, not at sea soooo ... Why? ... Here's one opinion on the matter.
Oh well, despite these things ... If his death brings solace to even one person who suffered as a result of actions caused by Osama and his followers then none of it matters.
As a country, we were hurt by him - each and every one of us - in our own ways, despite our differences.

Have you forgotten how it felt that day? To see your homeland under fire? And our people blown away? Have you forgotten when those towers fell? We had neighbors still inside going through a living hell. And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden. Have you forgotten? (Have You Forgotten - Darryl Worley)

Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Good-Bye.

Good-Bye Osama!
It took almost ten years ... But you're gone.

Well done, America. Good going, Pakistan.
Even though I feel strange feeling happy at the loss of any life, I must say I shed a few happy tears listening to the President say once and for all that Osama is dead. President Obama said that, "His demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity" ... and it's true. So much blood has been shed at the hands of Osama bin Laden, not just on American soil but all over the world.
I am also happy that Obama stressed that we are not at war with Islam ... because some people still seem to be confused about that. Maybe now Muslims can go back to being normal people ... Hopefully. Because as we celebrate this day in American history, look around and realize who is celebrating with you. They are people from all walks of life - from all religions, from all races and creeds. This is a day to come together and remember those who lost their lives at the hands of a terrorist, not at the hands of a Muslim.

Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list, and the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist, and the Eagle will fly, and there's gonna be Hell when you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell and it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you. Oh, brought to you courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue ... Oh, justice will be served and the battle will rage, this big dog will fight when you rattle it's cage, you'll be sorry that you messed with the U S of A, 'cuz we'll put a boot in your ass, it's the AMERICAN WAY!
